It’s no secret that practically any Path of Exile player has their own deeply rooted preferences when it comes to their personal picks for the best map.
Often times, these preferences don’t even revolve around the reward potential, but rather their play-style.
Factors like the layout, area size, pathing, average density of mobs, and the difficulty of the boss in contrast with the build you’re playing typically assume a very large role in your decision of which map is the absolute best.
However, if you are a player that cares far more about the reward potential than the “comfiness” of a given map – I’ve got just the map for you!
Say hello to Tropical Island!
I’ve gone ahead and tested pretty much every single map in the game to establish which one was the easiest and fastest when it comes to stacking up rewards. And this map came out on top by a long shot!
Why Is Tropical Island My Best Map For Delirium League?
When I test potential maps, there are always a few criteria that I keep in mind to select our initial pool.
Here are a few of the key points:
- Linear (or close to) layout.
- Large map area.
- Good base density without juicing up the map.
- Easy to kill boss (for all META builds).
And if you’ve run through Tropical Island, you probably already know that this map checks off each and every one of the above points.
The map itself is insanely long and totally linear, allowing you to venture further away from the mirror without having to worry about potentially losing out on any mob spawns, allowing you to stack up far more rewards than you would with any other map.
During my testing, Strand, Lair, and Phantasmagoria were all runners up for the best PoE map to run in Delirium League, but they fell behind Tropical Island due to the lack of any decent base mob density.
It’s also worth noting that Tropical Island is VERY cheap and easy to juice up. Start with the Feral Lord I Prophecy, which is guaranteed to proc on this map every time you pop one open.
In addition to this, Tropical Island is a Tier 9 map. This makes it incredibly approachable for practically any META build. It’s an easy, breezy clear that will take you 2-3 minutes if you build your character with enough mobility.
At the end of the day, we were consistently getting 20-30 Simulacrum Splinters per run from the Tropical Island map, which overtakes the other maps we tested by around 5-10 splinters per map.
What Are Other Good Maps To Run For Delirium Rewards?
If Simulacrum splinters are what you’re there for – there are only four maps that prove to be efficient this season.
Aside from tropical island, here are three more maps that you should experiment with:
- Strand – Very fast clear, easy linear layout, and it’s a Tier 2. This provides for very quick clear, but again you’re missing the distance factor, and the density just isn’t there anymore.
- Lair – The boss is a pain, and you don’t quite get that distance from the mirror that you would with Tropical Island, but it’s a good alternative being a Tier 8 map.
- Phantasmagoria – It’s not exactly linear, nor is it a fast clear despite being a Tier 4 map. However, it’s not bad at all compared to the rest of the Atlas pool, and the mob density is pretty decent, albeit hardly comparable to Tropical Island.
Closing Thoughts
While Tropical Island has always been a good map to farm and run in PoE, the Delirium League rewards quickly helped this map rise to the top of many players’ Atlas pools. All in all, so far, it’s proving itself to be the best map for farming the league rewards, and alongside it tons of currency and drops (especially if you stick the Hunted Traitors mod on there).
