Curious about the League of Legends party rewards system? Follow along as we explain what it is and what you stand to gain from participating in it.
What’s more fun than playing League of Legends? How about earning rewards by playing League of Legends with friends?
As savvy developers, Riot Games are definitely aware of this – and that’s exactly why they’ve rolled out the League Party Rewards system!
What Is The League Of Legends Party Rewards System?
The League of Legends group play rewards project is a 2-week experiment that encourages players to team up with friends for the chance to add bonus multipliers to their standard BE (Blue Essence) earned per game.
Therefore, the bigger your party is, the more of a reward you will receive!
Here is how the rewards are scaled according to your party size:
- Party of 1 – 0x BE
- Party of 2 – 4x BE
- Party of 3 – 6x BE
- Party of 4 – 8x BE
- Full team – 16x BE
But, hang on – what’s Blue Essence and why does it matter anyway?
Blue Essence is the in-game currency used to purchase items such as runes, LoL rune pages, and even champions. Using Blue Essence is actually pretty much the best way to obtain new champions – spending real-life money aside.
Available rewards also depend on what queue you are in.
Summoner’s Rift has the largest rewards but other maps will be scaled accordingly.
Is The League Party Rewards System Going To Be Permanent?
After this 2-week trial is complete, Riot Games will temporarily disable the League of Legends Party Rewards setup. They will go through all the data collected and decide on the future of Party Rewards – whether it’s to stay or go.
Even though Riot Games is now doling out rewards in the League of Legends Party Rewards trial, things have not always been sunshine and rainbows. Unfortunately, within any game, there are always unsavory players.
Riot Games has implemented a series of rewards and punishments over the years in an attempt to encourage good behavior or discourage unwanted behavior. An example of these included BE boosts to those who were not reported for violations in the chats or the more visible rewards for long-term LoL fans.
On the opposite end, a Tribunal was also created within the player community to judge members they felt were toxic and hand out respective punishments. These included suspensions, bans, and exclusion from ranked play.
Do I Need To Do Anything Special To Get Enhanced Rewards?
While the whole system is pretty straightforward – there have been some questions raised in the community about whether or not you’ll have to go out of your way and do anything special in order to get the party play rewards across your LoL matches.
The answer, thankfully, is no!
All you need to do in order to participate and receive party rewards is to hop in with some friends and que up together. However, Riot has confirmed that there is a chance that your premade party will earn no rewards whatsoever on certain games, while getting way more than usual in other matches.
This is meant to add a little bit of thrill and excitement to the entire experience. It also encourages you to play more games with larger premade parties in order to win higher tier rewards across the games you play.
Closing Thoughts
In conclusion, “the more the merrier” is a saying that definitely applies to League of Legends Party Rewards.
As in, the more friends you play League of Legends with, the bigger your BE payout will be. And of course, it’s also more fun when everyone’s playing nice!
