When it comes to Diablo 2 and it’s new Resurrected update – Andariel is one of the most iconic boses in the game. Standing tall and proud as the warden of Act 1, she’s there to curb undergeared players, give you a great opportunity to gear up, and drop you a nice SoJ (Stone of Jordan) or two once in a blue moon.
However, while Andariel’s drops are great in Diablo 2 Resurrected – did you know that you can quest bug her for an even better drop chance on certain items?
What Is The Diablo 2 Resurrected Andariel Bug?
The Andariel quest bug, or qbug for short, is a very well-known method of improving the drops you get from Andariel for most seasoned Diablo 2 players. However, with the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected, more an more players are finding themselves at a loss as to how this bug works, what it’s all about, and why they should get on board with it.
Effectively, quest bugging Andariel reduces the “no drop” chance for the boss’ drop table and improves the chance to drop runes, set items, uniques, and Rares. You may see fewer white items and blue items drop – but let’s be real, who misses those?
How To Quest Bug Andariel In Diablo 2 Resurrected?
Thankfully, setting up the Diablo 2 Resurrected Andariel bug isn’t rocket science. All you have to do is follow a couple super simple steps that we’ve outlined below.
Andariel Quest Bug Instructions:
- Kill Andariel in Act 1 – Catacombs 4.
- After looting, go back to town and talk to Warriv immediately! It’s important to not talk to any other NPC before Warriv.
- Select the chat option to “Go East” when talking to Warriv.
- Once you load into Act 2, hit Escape and then choose the “Save And Exit” option to save & quit the game.
- Open a new game and enjoy your buffed drop rates.
How Does The Diablo 2 Andariel Quest Bug Work?
The quest bug is quite interesting, because Andariel’s drop rates are buffed during the quest – essentially rewarding players for taking on the Act boss for the first time.
However, instead of handing the quest in, the player chooses to travel to Act 2 right away, which automatically completes the quest and locks her as still being in the quest phase.
How Many Times Can You Quest Bug Andariel?
Andy can be bugged once per difficulty. This means if you’ve successfully quest bugged her on Normal, you’ll need to wait until Nightmare to be able to do the same again, and then Hell after you’re done with Nightmare.
In total, you should have 3 chances to pull off the quest bug. And with the steps we’ve outlined above – that task should certainly be a piece of cake.
Can The Diablo 2 Resurrected Andariel Bug Get You Banned?
While the bug itself was probably not intended by the developers – 20 years in, we have yet to see a single player get reprimanded for using it to bolster your chances of dropping good loot.
